Did you miss Jude Idada's psycho-erotic play? Dude you missed something but you can read all about it in my review published in thisislagos. It was sinful and it was delicious. Finger licking so. Enjoy. #artislife

So, I didn't post a poem yesterday. Well, that was because today is Valentine's Day.
Here is a poem I wrote for my girlfriend a few years ago.
I share it here today for her and for everyone missing a loved one this Valentine's day. Enjoy and make a date next week Tuesday. #artislife #Tuesdayisforpoetry #happyvalentine'sday
KEPT APART BY A HUNDRED MILES
(For Afusat)

Kept apart by a hundred miles
I send you these lines to tease out smiles

My lips are redolent of your kisses
My hands flail in search of your breasts
I remember the many nights I dug in you
Like an eager farmer, sowing pleasure

Your breasts have comforted me
And your pubis is my sea-bed of pleasures

Like the He-goat, I smell you:
On my skin, my clothes, my very soul
Thoughts of you have left a snake in my pants
And I curse these meandering paths
That keep us apart like two palm trees
Bending across space to kiss and kiss again

My love, my life, my darling friend
I taste your kisses on my lips
As I imagine what could have been
This February fourteenth - Toni Kan

"It is useful that Ucheoma Onwutuebe has demonstrated to us one of the many manifold stories of the contemporary woman in her search for something good; stories that are constantly evolving in the face of unique female attainments. It is also remarkable that she has done so with the stark candidness of voice..." #PraxisColumnist #INTERCESSIONS [praxismagonline.com]
