I joined the American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative (@amlungcsi ) and @senatorbobarchuleta to testify at the California State Assembly Committee on Health in support of SB1124!

Lung cancer is the number one cause of cancer related death killing close to 10,000 Californians per year! Unfortunately in California, we only screen 13% of eligible people for lung cancer a year.

SB1124 hopes to get more people screened for lung cancer by having the criteria for lung cancer screening and smoking cessation displayed at the place of tobacco sales.

We never know when the message of lung cancer screening will reach patients, but we owe it to ourselves to do a better job of getting the message out by passing SB1124.

Call your California state assembly representative to support SB1124!

Today was a big day for lung cancer advocacy in the State of California! We met with over 20 offices and staffers for the California State Assembly! Our goal is to increase lung cancer screening, to find lung cancer early, and to save lives!

Lung cancer is the Number 1 cause of cancer related death in the US and in California! We need to change that!

Specifically, we (@amlungcsi) helped author SB 1124 which aims to put signage up about lung cancer screening and tobacco cessation at places where tobacco is sold.

We hope to empower patients with the knowledge of lung cancer screening by bringing screening information to them so they can have informed discussions with their doctors and PCPs about lung cancer screening!

Only 16.8% of eligible Californians are getting screened for lung cancer, and we have to change that!

Call your California state assembly representative and tell them to vote for SB1124!!
