Winter classes are here 👀❄️

Start browsing today and build your term plans BEFORE your time ticket opens!

Think of term plans as rough-draft schedules:
✅ Map out the classes you want

✅ Create backup options in case a class fills up

✅ Save yourself time when it’s time to register.

Future you will thank you. 🙌

💡 PRO TIP: Clear any holds on your account before your time ticket opens. The majority of holds will block you from registering. Go to R'Web and click the ⚠️ Holds icon.

📅 10/27: Check R’Web for your time ticket
📝 11/2: Winter registration begins

Your time ticket tells you when you can register on or after Nov. 2, so check yours and get planning!

💙💛 UCR Community, Let's Show Up for Our Transfer Students! 💙💛

In honor of National Transfer Student Week, I want to extend a heartfelt invitation to all UCR students, staff, and faculty to complete the Transfer Ally Training! 🎓

As a former transfer student, I know firsthand how meaningful it is to have someone who sees your potential, values your experiences, and reminds you that you belong (-Stella Rocha).

Our transfer students bring incredible knowledge, resilience, and lived experiences that enrich our campus community. They deserve more than access to higher education. They deserve an institution that intentionally welcomes, values, and supports them.

💙 Creating a transfer-receptive culture is a shared responsibility. It extends beyond any one office, department, program, or individual. Whether you are a student, staff member, or faculty member, every interaction matters, and each of us has the opportunity to make a lasting difference. 💛

This National Transfer Student Week, I encourage our UCR community to turn celebration into action. Take the Transfer Ally Training and join us in strengthening a campus culture where transfer students feel seen, valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Being a transfer ally is more than a title. It's a commitment to how we show up for one another and how we collectively create a culture of belonging. 💛

📲 Scan the QR code on the flyer to access the training! Open to all UCR students, staff, and faculty.

If you have Federal Work-Study as part of your financial aid offer, you may be eligible to earn money through a part-time job while you're in school 👀

❓What happens if I don’t use Work-Study in the year it was awarded to me? If unused, the Work-Study award will be lost and will not be offered in the future.

❓If I don’t earn the entire Work-Study award amount this year, does the money carry to the next year? No, your Work-Study award does not carry over to the next year.

❓Will my Work-Study be disbursed with the other aid I have accepted? No, a paycheck will be issued bi-weekly as you work your Work-Study job. It will not automatically pay towards your tuition and fees.

❓What time period can I earn my Work-Study funds? Between the first day of Fall quarter through the last day of Spring quarter. Work-Study funds are not available during the Summer.

❓Do I have to spend my earnings on tuition and fees? No, you are free to spend your earnings as you wish.

❓How many Work-Study hours can I work a week? You are allowed to work up to 19 hours per week (up to 39 hours during Winter and Spring break).

❓Are jobs on-campus or off-campus? Both. You can get a job on-campus or a job that accepts federal work-study off-campus. All Work-Study approved jobs are posted on Handshake.

❓Will UCR find or place me in a job? Students are responsible for applying for and securing their own Work-Study jobs.

@officialdanielsilvas 🚨 UC Riverside, Inland Empire, California News 🗞️ Wild donkeys are becoming an unlikely attraction at UC Riverside this quarter.

UCR posted Sunday that the animals have already been roaming campus “quite a bit,” including a pair near Lothian Residence Hall. “We couldn’t let Week 1 go by without… DONKEY PICS!” the university wrote.

Officials called them “the cutest” but asked students and staff not to feed them, keep their distance, and drive carefully on campus roads and in parking lots. Feeding can ruin natural foraging habits and cause the donkeys to lose their fear of cars and people. They are wild animals, and their behavior is unpredictable.

One commenter said the donkeys may also be clearing brush, which could help lower wildfire risk.
