We want to jump higher and hit harder, so one of the best ways to do that is by chasing the development of the foundation and underpinnings for those two mechanisms of sport. Before we start loading, we prepare the body to move. The spine and trunk need to move, stabilize, and transfer force through a variety of positions. Our prep work focuses on developing that with movements that get the spine to flex and extend, laterally flex, and rotate.

Every jump and subsequent landing places demands on the muscles and tendons responsible for controlling movement. So early off-season phase is about developing movement competency, increased time under tension, movement quality and laying the foundation for what’s next: greater recruitment of high-threshold motor units, maximize generation of potential energy to utilize the SSC, and overcome inertia. #ucsd #volleyball

The Sun God Sunset is officially here and the hype is completely unreal. This is our very first event of the year and the community is already massive. Our Discord just hit 742 students and over 300 people are officially locked in to pull up. We have a huge mix of incoming freshmen, brand new transfers, and seniors ready to party. If you are looking for the absolute best way to break out of the usual campus bubble and actually connect with people, this is your sign to join Social Club before we max out. The entire point of this kickoff is to get you offline and making real memories. This is your chance to swap Instagrams, find your people, and lock in a solid friend group that you can hang out with for the entire school year. We host new events every single week. Building those connections right now means you will always have a dedicated squad to go out with on the weekends. We are taking over the Sun God lawn to build the ultimate open function. Grab your roommates, bring your favorite picnic blankets, and claim a spot on the grass. We have live DJs spinning sets all the way through the sunset. Whether you want to chill and listen to the mix or get active, we have you covered. We are setting up a dedicated game zone packed with Spikeball nets and cornhole boards so you can challenge people from every single college and major. Because this is our massive debut, we are going completely all out on the perks. We secured incredible brand partners like Olipop so we are pulling up fully stocked. We are giving away free food, ice cold sodas, and limited edition merch drops to everyone who comes out. You literally just have to show up and enjoy the free stuff. We keep the vibes right by making sure the community is safe. Everyone in the group is a verified student. Just hit the Google Form link in our bio and drop your UCSD email. Once the form verifies your student status, it automatically sends you the link to our private Discord. Get verified, introduce yourself in the server, and come kick it with us on the lawn. See you at sunset! #Ucsd #ucsocial #ucsd2030 #lajolla #collegelife
