2026 Policy Update!

Three of the four bills prioritized by the College For All Coalition (CFAC) earlier this year passed, advancing efforts to make higher education more accessible and equitable for California students. Here’s a look at the outcomes and what they mean for students:

📚 AB 2766 (Ahrens) — SIGNED INTO LAW
Expands campus housing support for foster youth and students experiencing homelessness.

💰 AB 2422 (Caloza) — SIGNED INTO LAW
Gives students more time to resolve financial aid delays without facing penalties that could disrupt their education.

🎓 AB 1871 (Fong) — SIGNED INTO LAW
Expands dual enrollment opportunities, helping high school students earn college credit.

💼 AB 713 (Solache) — VETOED
The veto means undocumented students may continue facing barriers to on-campus employment at California public colleges and universities, limiting their ability to cover educational costs, gain work experience, and build financial stability.

The passage of three bills marks progress, but the veto of AB 713 reminds us that barriers to higher education remain. CFAC will continue working alongside legislative champions and partners to advance policies that make college accessible, affordable, and equitable for every California student.

We, as UC student leaders, demand the immediate resignation of UC Regent Jay Sures for his complicity in Islamophobia and his continued efforts to suppress anti-genocide advocacy. We refuse to stay silent in the face of injustice and repression. ✊✊

Excited to launch the UCSA Accessible Advocacy & Events Planning Guide!! 🩷

This guide provides practical resources to support accessible event planning and logistics, inclusive outreach and communications, accommodations and access, and actionable checklists for organizers.

With the UC’s rich history of disability justice and increasing disabled student populations, in order to advocate for at-large student issues, we must ensure disabled students are in the room with us.

We encourage student leaders, organizations, and campus community members to use this resource to help ensure that accessibility is considered at every stage of your event planning!

Nothing about us without us. ‼️📢

Access the guide in the link in bio or at tinyurl.com/accessucsa !!

Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day! 🪶

Today is a celebration of Indigenous resilience, culture, and sovereignty. We’d like to take a moment to honor our Indigenous communities, the land on which we stand on and also call for University accountability to Indigenous Peoples.

Accountability starts with honoring NAGPRA and CalNAGPRA laws by returning ancestral remains and sacred cultural belongings back to Native communities.

Learn more about how to hold our university, and the UC system accountable to NAGPRA policies —>
