Four years and lots of growth later, she finally graduated. I am so eternally grateful for all of the amazing people and experiences Delaware has given me. It was everything I ever could have dreamed of and so much more. Shoutout to my best friends and amazing roommates for getting me through it. Most importantly thank you to my parents for being the most amazing support system I could have ever asked for. Roll hens!! Ill see you in the lab!! 💛💙

She believed she could, so she did…

Except, for a long time, I didn’t know if I could.

Throughout my journey to this moment, there were so many obstacles, so many moments of doubt and uncertainty that hit harder than I ever expected. There were times I rerouted my path, paused, and almost gave up completely. But somehow, step by step, I kept going.

Today, I’m graduating from the University of Delaware with my B.S. in Animal Science on the Pre-Veterinary Medicine track, and I know with my whole heart that I did not get here alone.

I owe everything to my village, every person who showed me love, support, friendship, patience, and reassurance when I needed it most.

Moving to Delaware alone was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but the family I gained here is something I’ll carry with me forever. To the professors and mentors who believed in me, pushed me, and treated me like their own daughter, thank you for helping me see potential in myself that I couldn’t always see on my own. To the friends and classmates who showed me kindness and held my hand through some of the most difficult moments of my life, thank you because without you I would not be here today.

Lastly, thank you to the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (home). I could not have pictured another place to have studied and learned. The love I have for my beautiful college is immense. I will miss you CANR and all of the animals.

The unfortunate number of angels I’ve gained these last few years has been indescribable. But I feel their love and presence surrounding me in every step I take. Today, that feeling is especially overwhelming. This accomplishment is for them too.

Angels all around me, always 🕊️

This weekend five of our girls attended Sigma Alpha’s Ignite Leadership Conference in Denver, CO! 🏔️We deepened our understanding of the Pillars- Leadership, Fellowship, Scholarship, and Service, along with the essential elements that guide us and our chapter. 🤍✨

We also had the best time participating in engaging group events and projects with sisters from across the country, building connections that will last a lifetime.💫 #leadershipconference #sisterhood

Introducing Sigma Alpha!

Sigma Alpha was founded in 1978 at The Ohio State University and later established at the University of Delaware in 1999. Since then, our chapter has continued to uphold the strong foundation and traditions of Sigma Alpha while creating a close-knit community here at UD!
As a chapter, our values center on achievement in scholarship, leadership, and service, while supporting and encouraging women pursuing careers in agriculture. Sigma Alpha’s goal as a sorority is to promote its members in all facets of agriculture and to strengthen the bonds of friendship among sisters. We strive to create an environment where members are empowered academically, professionally, and personally, while being surrounded by a supportive and motivating sisterhood.
Throughout the year, we actively participate in UDance, Ag Day, campus-wide events, and various Greek life events. We proudly support our national philanthropy, Ag in the Classroom, as well as several local and national organizations including Faithful Friends Animal Society, the SPCA, and the B+ Foundation.
Through our philanthropies, we aim to increase agricultural literacy within our community. One way we work toward this goal is by visiting local classrooms to educate youth about the diversity and importance of agriculture. In addition, we are heavily involved with animal shelters in our area, hosting events that create goods for shelters and volunteering our time to support and care for animals in need.

Special shoutout to our Vice President of Programming, @mythili.satheesh for planning this event!

We are so grateful to have hosted pumpkin painting, with pumpkins from @ramseys.farm , inflatables from @bigwaveparty , as well as samples from @honeygrow !
Another shoutout to @artmadebyabby for the amazing banner shown in the first slide!
