💊 CROSS THE OPPONENT’S PATH

Want to win more duels?

Sometimes, the key is to win the space between your opponent and the ball.

In this clip, the defender reads the opponent’s running path and acts at the right moment to gain a positional advantage.

🧠 How does he do it?

✅ Uses his arm across the opponent’s chest to disrupt their progress.

✅ Gets his hip in front of the opponent to cross their path and place his body between the opponent and the ball.

✅ Uses subtle hip contact to throw the opponent off balance and gain control of the space.

The objective is not simply to shield the ball. It is to win the space needed to reach it first, stop the opponent’s progress and regain possession.

⚠️ The key is timing and coordination. It is not about simply pushing the opponent, but about reading their movement, anticipating their path and using your body to gain the advantage.

🎯 WHAT THIS CLIP FROM @_jb_futbol TEACHES:

How to cross an opponent’s path and get your body between them and the ball, using your arm and hip to gain space, disrupt their run and win the duel.

🧠 He wins the space and then he wins the ball.

⚽ THIS IS INDIVIDUAL BEHAVIOUR. THIS IS FOOTBALL WITH PURPOSE.

Keep trying. Keep learning. Never give up.

Because success doesn’t come from getting it right the first time, but from having the courage to try again. 💚💚 @uecornella.academy @uecornella
