Set sail with the UF Opera Theatre and UF Symphony Orchestra for a night of laughter, romance, and rollicking pirates on Sunday, April 19th! 🏴‍☠️

Follow Frederic as he wrestles with a truly ridiculous twist of fate: a leap-year birthday that keeps him tied to a band of soft-hearted pirates far longer than he ever imagined. Along the way, you’ll meet a blundering Modern Major-General, his chorus of daughters, and a cast brimming with mischievous creativity. The wit and spirit of Gilbert & Sullivan’s beloved masterpiece shine in this delightful performance. 🦜

UF Opera is part of the University of Florida School of Music — known for developing the next generation of professional performers, offering students rigorous vocal training, stagecraft, and the chance to tackle both beloved classics and adventurous new works.

The faculty-led program consistently produces singers who light up concert halls and opera stages across the country and around the world. Recent graduates and past alumni have graced the stages of La Scala in Italy and the Santa Fe, San Francisco, Chicago Lyric, and Metropolitan Opera houses in the US.

“We are thrilled to share the artistry of our young singers with First Coast Opera audiences,” says Dr. Anthony Offerle, Professor of Voice/Opera at the University of Florida School of Music and Director of the UF Opera Theatre.

“Opportunities like Fanfare! give our students valuable experience and allow them to connect with communities that share their love of opera.”
