A little life lately 🤍

This week I had the opportunity to attend the Florida Nursing Students Association conference in Palmetto!

Between nursing school, planning future trips, and everyday life, it's easy to get caught up in the next thing on my to-do list. I'm trying to get better at documenting the experiences along the way, too.

A little nursing school, a little personal growth, and lots of dreams for what's ahead.

🧡🐊💙Once a Gator Nurse, Always a Gator Nurse! 🩺🥼

What an incredible honor and full-circle moment to be invited to address the University of Florida College of Nursing’s Traditional BSN Class of 2028 at their White Coat Ceremony!

I had the distinct privilege of speaking to these future nurses in two very special capacities: first, as President-Elect of the UF College of Nursing Alumni Board, and then as the keynote speaker in recognition of being named the 2026 UF College of Nursing Alumna of the Year. To stand before the next generation of Gator Nurses, representing the very institution that helped shape my own nursing journey, was truly humbling and something I will always treasure. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to Dean Shakira Henderson, the incredible faculty and staff, and the entire UF College of Nursing team for including me in such a meaningful celebration. Your dedication to preparing the next generation of nurses is evident in everything you do!

What makes this ceremony even more special is the tradition behind it. In 2014, UF College of Nursing was selected as one of only 100 institutions nationwide to pilot the national White Coat Initiative, emphasizing compassionate, patient-centered care and professionalism from the very beginning of nursing education. Each white coat is sponsored by someone within the Gator Nursing community, symbolizing what we call “the gift of professionalism.” What a beautiful reminder that these students are entering a profession supported by generations of nurses who believe in them!

As I looked out at the Class of 2028, I couldn't help but reflect on my own journey and the incredible opportunities this profession has given me. Nursing is so much more than a career. It is an opportunity to serve, advocate, lead, inspire, and make a difference in the lives of others.

To the Class of 2028: Your journey is just beginning, and I hope you never underestimate the impact you can have as ONE nurse. Wear your white coats with pride, lead with compassion, never stop learning, and always remember the responsibility and privilege that come with caring for others.

Welcome to the Gator Nursing family!
