Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre is a summer festival with over 100 events including opera and musical theatre productions, concerts and more!

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Before there can be Jimmy Awards contenders at the Nederlander, judging starts months earlier in high school theatres across the US. In Utah, our amazing program honors the best in far more categories than just the “top two.” And we take time to provide in-person feedback and extensive written evaluations on every show.

It’s a job I take very, very seriously, and I’m honored to be trusted with it! IMO, every theatre kid is a winner. Putting on a show is no joke! 🎭#jimmyawards #highschoolmusical #theatrekid #musicaltheater @jimmyawards @ufomt

The long awaited UHSMTA post! This was the most incredible opportunity, I was able to meet insanely talented people, work with professionals, learn new material in a short amount of time. I am forever grateful for my time at this award show. Thank you to everyone involved! I could not have been given the title of Best Supporting Actress 2025 without everyone’s support. Thank you again, my life will forever be altered for the better. •

There has been a lot of discourse on my socials about how the math doesn’t math for many of us in the operatic side of the performing arts…and then the reactionary discourse trying to fix the fuzzy math others have put out. Also I’m noticing - In my feed - it’s been a lot of white dudes doing the back and forth on it. No shade cause ya know if it’s hard for them just imagine how it is for the rest. But for my birthday this year (and thank you all for the wishes) my phone showed me some deep cuts from my life. My single mom with a kid life traveling all over the world hiring Nannie’s like bandaids literally only for the time I was actually on stage cause I couldn’t afford anything else….Making toys out of card board boxes - having a kid who believed all waffles were shaped like the state of Texas since there were a lot of hotel stays/gigs in Texas in the years she figured out what waffles were. A kid who learned about drag queen make up by the age of 5 and literally sat for her turn after me like it was how it works and the kindness of the humans along the way who made our lives joyful - because holy hell - that was hard. 200 Carmen’s later and a kid who no longer asks “mom why are there posters of you everywhere we go”? (Cause we only go where I have a gig kiddo🤓 but no no really it’s cause im famous 😂🎭😎), and now asks “why can’t I be in that show with you”? Umm cause school is also important…..the math never mathed. The system wasn’t built to math for us. I never expected it to I just had to work harder and be scrappier and expect less to be honest. I aaaaalways had 14 jobs and recorded world music under another name entirely so as not to pollute my chances. But I digress - we are in a more pivotal time now we have to figure out what we are making, who it is for, and how to make it sustainable. Also I’m trying to learn how to use technology so I’m sure I could have made this much better but it was what I was puttering around on my phone with when everyone in my house was still asleep on the morning of my birthday. Peace yall. Life is hard. And it’s kinda gorgeous sometimes. There are a couple RIPs in here. Time is precious.

Amélie!!
I have such an insane amount of love for this show. I went in not knowing a single thing about it, and came out loving every part of it. Playing Nino Quincampoix is something I will carry with me forever, partly because I don’t want to say goodbye to this show but mainly because of the passion he has for the simple things, and to just enjoy every part of life while you still have it!! Thank you Nino💛

The friendships and family I’ve made from this is something I will be FOREVER grateful for. Thank you so much @ufomt for allowing me to be part of such an amazing production! Here’s to many many more!!
