Please… don’t invite me to see a movie with you if you don’t want me to bring my dinner from home into the theater with me and also if you don’t want me to gently touch you knee whenever something totally epic happens 🤪😏😳

So grateful to be part of Soft Serve, a beautiful group show at @goodmothergallery.
Sharing a few photos from the opening and the works on view.

If you’re in LA, stop by and spend some time with the pieces and all the thoughtful work in the show.
Good vibes, good work, good people.

Encina Artist Residency has concluded its residency program located in Topanga Canyon. We would like to thank the participating artists and our supporters, both local and within the greater Los Angeles arts community.

Since our founding in 2023 we have welcomed artist residents Lilah Rose and Jean Nagai, Brian Randolph, Liv Aanrud, Kristy Luck, Alyss Estay, and Nick Aguayo and Nelly Nunnally.

In 2024, in collaboration with GALLUCCI TULL, we exhibited Nick Taggart: Art School Portraits From 1974; and, for Topanga Open Studios, a presentation on the material culture of the canyon, from present day creators to the Chumash and Tongva, the original peoples of the Tovaangar territory. Concurrently, we hosted artist Virginia Broersma for her presentation of performance documentation related to Canyon artist Rabyn Blake (1933–2018).

The residency has also served as a site for various performances, community gatherings and impromptu happenings.

Special thanks to location hosts Jenna and Andrew, to Jessica Gallucci for residency advisory services, to the Topanga Historical Society for its educational support, and to Komo Collective for its donations of supplies.

E.A.R.’s program model was a great success and we are looking into replicating it at new locations moving forward. Our one small regret is that, due to the wildfires, we were unable to host our Spring/Summer 2025 cohort. We sense a real need for more residency programs in Los Angeles, and we encourage our community to explore ways to fill this gap.

Much love and appreciation,
Dani Tull
