our bridal party might have been little but damn was it mighty. we knew from the very beginning that we wanted to keep things small and intimate and special, but there were a few (very fleeting) moments during the planning process where i wondered if maybe our vision was "less than" because of our budget. i knew deep down just how untrue that was, but doubt can get the best of us sometimes, can't it? instead of giving into those voices, kenny and i decided to put love at the forefront. we figured out what our priorities were and then we diy'd the pants off of the rest. we put all of us into that wedding. our personalities and our hearts and our sweat and our tears. we reminded each other that the focus was our love and the love of our friends and family. and now, sitting here with seven weeks of perspective under my belt, i couldn't be happier about that choice. if you're planning a wedding, regardless of what your budget looks like, make sure your day looks and feels like YOU. don't give in to the hype, y'all. don't buy into this idea that all weddings need to follow a set of unwritten rules. it's your day. you make the rules. can't afford programs? guess what? you don't need 'em. want your best guy friend to be your bridesman? go for it. at the end of the day nobody will remember if the suits matched or care if you served steak and lobster. they'll remember the love and the way you made them feel. you do you, y'all. it's good wedding advice, but it's also good life advice. 💖💖💖💖💖💖photo: @ohhhchelsea

I'd like to thank all the ladies who took it upon themselves to use a horrible picture of my head to play "Pin the Mustache on Kenny™", a hot new bachelorette party game.

today my sweet family showered me with even more wedding love and i'm just so overwhelmed with gratitude. of all the gifts they gave me, this cake meant the most because it came from the kitchen of the kindest human i know, my sweet friend @clairepacekinder. when you're a baker you don't get a lot of cakes, y'all. you make them and give them, but you don't get them. and not only did i get the prettiest cake, i also got the best tasting one. chocolate cake and cherry filling and caramel buttercream. DAMN. and knowing firsthand the work and the heart that goes into a gift like this just makes it all the more special. thank you to my family and my beautiful friends and to the insanely talented baker behind this gorgeous creation for loving me so hard and so well. you're all amazing. 💖
