to flourish. to come into being.

i was thinking about how moss grows. it finds a surface, a little moisture, some time, and slowly begins to belong to the area.

i considered the body as a landscape.

the moss felt like an exchange. a landscape covered in moss suggests it has known enough time and balance to become established. perhaps people do too. the parts of us that endure are rarely the ones we force into bloom.

also, there is something special in being a vessel for growth. knowing something can offer enough nourishment & safety for something fragile to take root.

so, i think flourishing is not always about becoming bigger. or ‘best’.

i think we spend so much time trying to become the flower that we forget the real miracle is becoming the ground.
