2025 was all about prioritizing my health, my career and my relationships. Proud to say I definitely did all three this year…

Grateful for everyone who played a role in my journey this year. 2026, the sky is the mf limit 📈

GET ON THAT RIM❗️

If you’re someone that can dunk but never challenge all the different ways you can dunk, you’ll never access your full athletic potential!

Even for guys that can’t quite dunk yet, there are still ways to develop that athleticism and comfortability with jumping off the move. You can lower the rim, use a smaller ball (even a tennis ball can be a good start), etc.

It’s critical you get some of this type of work so your body can adapt and become more explosive through intent. This paired with a proper strengthening and conditioning program in the weight room can make a world’s difference in your overall athleticism! 🏋🏽‍♂️

How do you compete in your workouts? 🤔

Something we take pride here at Value Basketball is the amount of competition and the level of creativity that goes into that competition for our group workouts! I truly believe that the more new ways you can compete (while pulling specific scenarios out of the game like us working on attacking closeouts here), the more bought in players would be and the more the skill will actually transfer to the player’s gameplay!

One of my pet peeves is seeing workouts with 2+ people and there’s no defense being played at all. Unbelievable to me!

Replace cones with defenders‼️

Limited Change-of-Direction Ones 💎

A great way to encourage what you’d want a player to do is through rewards! Here in this drill, we’re working on @ulaaa_7 prioritizing his straight line drives because sometimes he has a tendency to change directions unnecessarily. By creating a reward for those straight line drives (3 pts), he naturally put more effort in not changing directions!

This is a great strategy to guide your clients into applying what you’ve been working on with them without boxing them in. Give it a try!

Great stuff @vb.javon !!

How well do you handle defensive pressure on your downhill drives? 👀

This is a great drill to help you absorb and deal with contact when you’re attacking the basket. In this drill, the goal is to read and react to the position of the defense in order to finish. Our guy, @vb.javon has the keys to help you become an effective and explosive slasher and finisher! 💪🏾

Pick & Roll 💎

To master the pick and roll, it's not just about setting up a trash can and shooting a pull-up jumper from the free throw line. You need to practice with defense and understand the spacing your screener provides!

@peter_mcmanus1 is a pick and roll expert and this is just one reason why 💎
