I will be participating in the annual Camellia Crossing with the Moody College of Business at UL Lafayette as part of our team, Moody Making Strides. This year, I’ll be walking in memory of my daughter, Lexi. Lexi did not have cancer, but she was medically fragile throughout her life, and because of her, I understand something about the journey Miles Perret’s family experienced.

For nearly 29 years, we gave Lexi a life filled not simply with medical care, but with experiences, adventures, laughter, inclusion, and most importatnly, love. Since losing her in April, I have thought a great deal about what it means to turn our love for someone we have lost into something that can help others with her scholarship for the UL LIFE Program.

So this year, every step I take will be for the families served by Miles Perret Cancer Services—and in memory of my sweet Lexi. 💜
