🌍 High-Level Policy: Building a More Resilient and Innovative Tourism Ecosystem

Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) and Specto, two of the nine partners in the Interreg NEXT MED ReTour project, organised the Jordan Tourism Innovation and Resilience Forum as part of the project.

CSTI was pleased to participate in the Forum, with our Executive Chairman, Philippos Drousiotis, joining the panel “High-Level Policy: Building a More Resilient and Innovative Tourism Ecosystem”.

Philippos shared perspectives on the sustainability of tourism and the vital relationship between tourism, local communities and society, while also highlighting how AI can help address challenges such as food waste. At the same time, he stressed that AI alone is not enough — people remain at the heart of the equation and need the right skills and training to make innovation work in practice.

💡 Building resilient tourism SMEs means investing in people, skills, innovation and collaboration. AI can open new opportunities, but its impact depends on people having the knowledge and training to use it effectively.

Through ReTour – Building Resilient SMEs in the Tourism Industry, partners across the Mediterranean are working together to help tourism SMEs become more resilient, innovative and sustainable, better prepared for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
