- I was looking back through some old photos of the Bobber and I’d forgotten just how much I used to enjoy heading out for a ride on a Sunday, finding a cool location and taking a few photos.

Not for any particular reason, other than the fact that taking photos felt like shutting the world out for a little while. A bit like riding really. You have to concentrate on what you’re doing, pay attention to the little details and just enjoy being in the moment.

Over the last year or so, I stopped taking my camera out with me as much. I think I’d fallen into a bit of a routine with my photography. Same bike, similar angles, and I wasn’t really challenging myself creatively anymore. 😂

Maybe I’ll start taking the camera out with me again soon. Although perhaps this time I’ll try pointing it at something other than the Bobber! 😂

And if you’ve left a 🔥 emoji, I’ll know you haven’t read a single word of this caption. ☺️

This is where the @cardo_uk mayhem began, chatting with strangers left right and centre trying to find a spot to park to get some snaps 😂

The @ultimateear SoundEars are AMAZING btw, will be doing a review of them along with some other products that will make good Christmas presents (that aren't Temu tat) so keep your eyes out for that... in the meantime I've got the @suzukibikesuk Strom, Burgman 400, DRZ400SM reviews, a @qjmotoruk SRT450 review, the @norton.motorcycles Atlas still to come, and more, Youtube will be busy over winter that's for sure!

Thanks for all the patience if you watch my videos, I know I'm not the fastest at getting stuff out but I do what I can and I appreciate all of you who engage with my stuff, happy Monday!

There’s nothing wrong with being proud of yourself.

I think we’ve somehow become very good at noticing the distance we still have to travel, and absolutely terrible at acknowledging the ground we’ve already covered.

We reach something we once desperately wanted, enjoy it for about five minutes, and then move the goalposts.

What’s next?
What could be better?
What haven’t I done yet?

And just like that, another achievement becomes normal.

Another version of ourselves gets left behind without ever being thanked for getting us here.

But think about you a few years ago.

Think about what kept you awake at night.

The things you were frightened of.
The things you thought would break you.
The things you wanted but weren’t sure you’d ever have.
The situations you had absolutely no idea how you were going to get through.

And yet, somehow, you did.

Maybe you handled some of it brilliantly.

Maybe you handled some of it like an absolute disaster.

Most of us probably did a bit of both.

But you learned.

You adapted.

You lost things, found things, messed things up, fixed some of them, let go of others and carried on.

And somewhere amongst all of that, you became someone the old version of you didn’t know how to be yet.

We’re often told not to look backwards.

I disagree.

Look backwards every now and then.

Not because you want to go back.

But because sometimes you need to see the road behind you to understand just how far you’ve travelled.

Being proud of yourself isn’t arrogance.

It isn’t thinking you’re better than anyone else.

It’s simply giving yourself some of the kindness and recognition you’d give without hesitation to somebody you love.

You don’t need to have everything figured out.

You don’t need to have reached the finish line.

You don’t even need to be particularly happy with where you are right now.

You can still be proud of the person who got you here.

So stop moving the goalposts for a minute.
Turn around. Look at the distance behind you.

You might still have a bloody long way to go.

But you’ve already come a long way.

POV: You have spent 8 days riding through Mongolia listening to @max.hwrd drone on about how good his riding is - @ultimateear saving the day on this ride.

Jokes aside, the @ultimateear SoundEar Pro are now an essential piece of kit on any trip I take. Their products offer the perfect balance between ear protection and crystal clear audio, whether it’s comms with fellow riders or just music on the go. I was blown away with how they eradicate wind noise entirely whilst maintaining connection to the bike, allowing me to hear the rumble of the engine. Music doesn’t have to be blasted on full volume to be heard clearly, meaning your ears don’t get a battering from wind, engine or the music levels.

I can’t recommend these enough! Thank you @ultimateear
