"Inspired by icons like Erykah Badu, whose eclectic style breaks boundaries, the Cleopatra headpiece highlights the audacity and creativity that women bring to dancehall. Cleopatra, known for her intelligence, political acumen, and unapologetic ambition, is a symbol of female strength and leadership. I chose to incorporate a Jamaican version of Cleopatra to emphasize the power and influence women hold within the dancehall culture. The Pharo's headdress was reinterpreted from it's Egyptian roots and painstakingly crafted with beads in the colours of rastafari as an homage to my Jamaican roots. Women in dancehall have played a pivotal role in shaping the genre's bold, rebellious fashion statement as well as music and dance.

Without their flair, confidence, and ability to challenge norms, dancehall would lack the dynamic energy that defines it today. The fusion of iconic imagery, associated with ancient power of the pharo, and modern dancehall underscores the essential role of powerful women in both history and contemporary culture.
