CASE STUDY | ULTRACLEAR® ULTRA MODE by @cherylhanrahan6 @vanitylablondon @ultraclearuk @unfiltered_danielle_ @rebecca.street_uc Three session approach to complex post-surgical scar remodelling And preparation for paramedic tattooing with @victoriafeliciaprofessional and @cherylhanrahan6 Practitioner: Cheryl Hanrahan — Senior Skin & Laser Aesthetician @cherylhanrahan6 Treatment area: Lower abdomen Treatment modality: UltraClear® Ultra Mode ablative laser resurfacing Treatment course: Three sessions, approximately three months apart Presenting concern Complex surgical scarring following abdominoplasty, complicated by severe infection and multiple corrective surgical procedures. The treatment journey This patient presented with a challenging post-surgical abdominal scar characterised by areas of thickening, irregular texture, uneven contour and visible discolouration. Following assessment, a progressive, multi-depth Ultra Mode treatment plan was undertaken over three sessions, with approximately three months between each treatment to allow recovery and reassessment. The first session established the initial treatment approach using Ultra - mode 3 passes 750 µm, 1% , coagulation 1 500 µm 1%, coagulation 1 300 µm settings at 1%, coagulation 1. At the second session, the protocol progressed to Ultra-mode 1,000 µm, 2% 750 µm 2% 500 µm at 2% coagulation 2. The third session incorporated Ultra-mode 1,200um, 2% 1,000 µm 2% 750 µm, 2%, with coagulation 2. The patient had undergone a documented preparation period with hydroquinone for approximately two months before treatment, discontinuing it one week before the first session. CU3 Tissue Repair and the prescribed post-treatment aftercare regimen were provided as part of the treatment journey. @eden_aesthetics_uk Clinical observations The case demonstrates a structured, staged approach to treating complex surgical scarring, and hypertrophic scar with attention to preparation, progressive treatment planning, recovery and aftercare, by Cheryl If you’re unhappy with your surgical scars and surgery isn’t a option. I’ve been taking a closer look at @ultraclearuk an exciting new laser technology that offers effective skin rejuvenation with less downtime than many traditional laser treatments.   In my practice, I see particular potential for skin resurfacing around the eyelids and perioral area in facelift patients, as well as supporting scar optimisation following surgery.   More on this to come!
