Thomas Lea has committed to University of Mary (NCAA Division II).

Thomas becomes the fourth AUSA alum to commit to UMary under Coach Darren Tighe, a track record that speaks for itself. His journey with us goes back to our July 2023 tour, returning again in July 2025, and more recently competing on the NXT Pro and Pro16 circuits in Richmond, Virginia and Bryan, Texas.

Back home with the Frankston Blues, Thomas has developed into a prolific scorer and facilitator, and was part of the Victorian U20 state team that won the national championship in 2025. At 6'5", he offers that bigger guard/wing combination, comfortable on the ball or playing off it in the lanes which was a key factor in Coach Tai's recruitment of him.

His continued athletic and physical development, paired with a growing understanding of the game at a higher level, has set him up perfectly for this next step.

Congrats Thomas, excited to see your progression continue.

Nick Beattie has committed to University of Mary.

The 6'4 guard from Frankston, Victoria showcased to coaches this spring his ability to stretch the floor, shoot it off a dime and get hot very quickly.

In front of coaches in Kansas City and Tulsa, Beattie demonstrated his high IQ, his natural tendency to score the ball from all three levels and as a result attracted and garnered many coaches' interest across the course of the tour in May.

Nick ultimately decided University of Mary, the school that had recruited him the longest and had the best relationship, was the best place for him.

We congratulate Nick, a product of the Basketball Victoria system.
