Nothing goes on around Prairie Springs except for the fact that Prairie Springs is everything. I think the fact that I’ve been trying to write this caption for 30 minutes speaks to the fact that making a new musical in three weeks is too large an experience to capture in words. So we’ll try, and know it won’t be enough, but the trying is what matters. None of it exists without Billy, whose whole heart is in every note and every word of this show. None of it budges without Tommy, whose steadfast commitment to excellence somehow made a three-week fever dream feel like a luxury. None of it sounds the way it does without Matt, who pulled a full orchestra out of five people and pure will. None of it moves without Courtney, who constructed a whole language out of bodies and timing. And none of it happens at all without this cast, who showed up and made magic in a fly-infested rehearsal pavilion. I am so unbelievably lucky, and so unbelievably tired, and so unbelievably proud.
