Once you make a decision the Universe conspires to make it happen.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

After being accepted into over 20 schools, @jayfrizzy_08 was INTENT on choosing a school w a competitive volleyball team. Something in his spirit (ear) led him to an HBCU.

I’m so proud and thrilled to share that Josiah is officially a Freshman, playing D1 Volleyball @umeshawksmvb @umesnews

The way I cried at drop off is unmatched!!! My baby is in college y’all. 😭 🙌🏾 👑

🦅 UMES Shoutout 🦅

Showing some love to the guys for their achievements this past summer! From international, collegiate, and youth level

Jaxon Clark, Joshua Hightower, and Marcellous Owens had an amazing opportunity to compete in China for a collegiate tournament.

Jacob Strnisa and I received the plaque for last year’s NCAA DI Statistical Champion: Opponent Hitting Percentage. A lot of love for Jacob and the crew getting this achievement!

Ethan Quintana is a USAV 18 Open Champion and AAU All American (Team placed Top 10 in AAU Open). Amazing accomplishment!

Super proud of these guys on how they represented UMES and the family here.
Congratulations boys!!

New teams. New spots. And most recruits have no idea they exist. 🚨

7 schools have added men’s volleyball for the first time ever in the last 2 years — including Maryland Eastern Shore, set to become the first Division I HBCU to sponsor the sport.

New programs mean new roster spots, new coaches building from scratch, and real opportunity — if you know where to look.
