This past weekend was incredible! I have not been driving the wagon as much as I used to, but I knew I couldn't miss driving with the Ultimate Street Car Association at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Raceway Park. Our son and his wife brought their 67 Chevelle out on Friday to hang out and do the cruise. It was cool to have the three Chevelles out together again. On Saturday The Racing Byrds (Robert and Trish) did a fantastic job at setting up a fast, fun autocross course and Peak Performace Challenge at IRP. Then Sunday came and we headed to IMS. To say I was nervous would be an understatement! (honestly, I felt like throwing up) But after we got out on track it was so much fun and the Ole Wagon did exactly what is is built to do, go fast and turn. I still can't believe that we got the checkered flag racing at The Indianapolis Motor Speedway!

Thank you again UMI! I will post more progress as I finish this job. GM engineers really made a guy work for this one .

Chippin away...

Slightly modified the power steering pump bracket so the pulley clears the steering box. Highlight of the day was finally installing the rear with that fresh @umiperformanceinc setup running the @vikingperformance coilovers. Few other olds and ends. Fabbed up a bracket for the @malwoodusa reservoir and sourced some 59 yr old dash parts thanks to @sundellauto.

One step closer to running by summer! #tenyearslater #chevellq9

Spent the afternoon with @umi_ramey recently to tour the @umiperformanceinc manufacturing and racing shops. Incredible behind the scenes look of current and future projects, seriously impressed by how they develop & build newer and older cars to make them handle on track. But I'm definitely partial to their camaros! Looking forward to installing more UMI parts this off season on the catfish

As this year ends I wanted to close it out with this picture from what is probably my favorite event of the year! I go to a lot of fun events thankfully but the lineup and parade laps during King Of The Mountain at @umimotorsportspark is hard to beat! It’s awesome having 48 of the coolest drivers and vehicles all in one spot competing! I want to say thanks to Abigail for letting me get in the truck during the parade and to let me get this awesome shot from it! I also want to thank @umi_ryank, @umi_ramey, and the whole team at @umiperformanceinc for letting me be a small part in the big festivities! Can’t wait for 2026! @summitracing @vikingperformance @turnonesteering @forgeline @bowlertransmissions @ronfranciswiring @hawksthirdgen @hawkperformance @wiredbypsi @quick_performance @tickperformance @paceperformanceparts @smittyscustomauto @quartermasterusa @snappysfresh @protouringdotcom #umiperformance #umimotorsportspark #umikingofthemountain #protouring #leyt5photography

Today we had the privilege to tour UMI Performance Inc. in Phillipsburg, PA to see how they design, build, test, and market their awesome USA made products! They have always been very accommodating to us at EWCTC and the students love to see the race shop! This year was no different. Ramey Womer gave a great tour, engaged the students, and showed us what it takes to be the best in the business! Thank you to the entire umiperformanceinc team, umi_ramey, umi_ryank, and our students for a great experience!
