Nature’s ability to bounce back is nothing short of miraculous – if we are willing to put in the work. 🌱✨

It is easy to look at a dry, degraded landscape and think it is too late. But one family in Brazil looked at a completely devastated cattle ranch and envisioned a lush rainforest. After decades of trial, error, and unwavering dedication, they brought an entire ecosystem back from the brink, proving that no land is ever truly lost.

Swipe to discover the incredible legacy of @institutoterraoficial and how their work is now helping thousands of families live in harmony with the forest! 👉

What does a safe home really mean? 🏡🌱

Happy International Day for the Eradication of Poverty! This year’s theme focuses on “Safe Homes for All,” reminding us that ending poverty is inseparable from protecting human rights and human dignity.

But here is the reality: a house is only as safe as the land it stands on. For millions of people experiencing poverty, degraded land means their communities are on the absolute frontlines of environmental disasters. When we talk about building safe homes, we have to talk about restoring the earth beneath them.

Swipe to see how healing our landscapes is one of the most powerful tools we have to fight extreme poverty and build a more equal world! 👉🏽

You can’t grow a healthy future in broken soil. 🌾🌍

Happy World Food Day! Today, we celebrate the incredible farmers who feed the globe, but we also have to face a harsh reality: in 2025, 2.69 billion people could not afford a healthy diet. Meanwhile, the earth we rely on to produce that food is under immense pressure.

This year’s theme is “Innovate today. Nourish tomorrow.” But innovation isn’t just about high-tech gadgets – it is also about reviving ancestral farming practices, scaling community-led soil restoration, and making sure smallholder farmers have the tools they need to adapt to a changing climate.

Who is really feeding the world? 🌾👩🏾‍🌾

Happy International Day of Rural Women! Today, we are celebrating the incredible women who make up 40% of the global agricultural workforce and act as the frontline protectors of our environment.

But celebration isn’t enough. Despite producing half of the world’s food, rural women only own 15% of the land. They face massive hurdles in accessing the credit, tools, and education they need to succeed – and their work is often unpaid and invisible.

If we want to fight climate change and end global hunger, we have to start by giving rural women the exact same opportunities as men. When women thrive, the earth thrives! 🌱

Story time!

Waking up at 6am, coming back late, and then getting to work on the next day. That was life for two weeks at COP17. And somehow, every morning, I still wanted to be there.

This photo is from the last day. I was finally taking a moment to breathe it all in, thinking about everything it had taken to get here. All those days and nights of working towards it, and now I was already saying goodbye.

I’d come with my camera and a few different parts of myself: the filmmaker, the youth advocate, and the person who loves being around people trying to make things happen.

Through filmmaking, I get to meet people. People at the grassroots who let me into their lives and trust me to capture their stories and bring them into rooms like these. Here, I was hearing more stories, and finding myself thinking, I’m so lucky I get to do this. I rarely stop to think about how much I’ve already captured and shared. That day, I did.

I’m still thinking about how differently we relate to land. It can be home, a livelihood, a memory, a place you’ve left, or something you’re fighting to protect. Hearing people talk about their own lives helped me understand how much that one word holds.

And then, the goodbyes.

How do people you briefly know or didn’t know two weeks ago become family?

So yes, there will probably be more Mongolia posts. Two weeks there, and apparently a much longer time to take it all in. ♡

Your home should be your ultimate safe haven. But when the environment around us degrades, that safety is put on the frontline of climate disasters. 🏚️⛈️

Happy International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction! This year’s theme is “Resilience Starts at Home,” reminding us that nobody should have to choose between a home that is affordable and one that is safe.

But building a safe home goes way beyond the four walls you live in. It is about the ecosystem surrounding it. Healthy, restored land absorbs floodwaters, cools extreme heat, and holds the earth together to prevent landslides. When we restore our landscapes, we are literally building a natural shield for our communities. 🌳🛡️

🚨 COP17 WRAPPED. HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED.

The dust has settled in Ulaanbaatar. And COP17 delivered some big moments.

Here's the quick rundown.
🌱 Historic attention for rangelands and pastoralists
🏡 Progress on land tenure
🌪️ Greater focus on sand and dust storms
💧 Drought set as a key priority for COP18

💰 $1.3 billion announced for 23 countries, with a new fund aiming to raise another $400 million for drought resilience.

But not everything was settled. Gender, synergies across the Rio Conventions, and civil society participation were deferred to COP18 in Egypt.

For youth, the priorities remain clear: meaningful participation, direct resources, stronger government partnerships, protection of local knowledge and pastoralism, and more intergenerational learning.

COP17 is finished, but the work continues.

Climate justice starts in the community.

Meet Oumou Amadou Diko, a Fulani leader from Mali and Founding President of the Association of Youth for the Defense of Human Rights and the Protection of the Environment (AJDHPE).

She is also part of the UN Human Rights Indigenous Fellowship Programme 2026 (unitednationshumanrights).

At @cop17mongolia, she shared how her community is facing climate change and drought, and what they’re doing about it: environmental education, climate awareness, and the fight for climate justice.

Young leaders like Oumou (@oumou_inne) are showing that real solutions begin on the ground.

What’s one way your community is taking climate action? Tell us below 👇
