I HEARD THE CITY BREATHE LIVE was a success. I’m still taking in what this moment meant. First and foremost, thank you to the Beverly Arts Center for allowing us to bring I Heard The City Breathe Live to your theater and giving this vision a home. We truly appreciate the opportunity. This journey started with the music creation first — the writing, producing, recording, and building of the EP. From there, it expanded into music business workshops, giving artists and students the opportunity to learn more about the industry, ownership, and how to build sustainable careers in music. Along the way, this project continued to grow through sessions, workshops, rehearsals, the art show, and the release party — all leading up to this live performance. A special thank you to Brian Gorman of the @Chicago Hip Hop Heritage Museum, Scott Fetters of 2112 Creative Industries Incubator, Tonya Howell of Intonation Music, Camila Vick and Aramis Pates of Creation Sound Studios for allowing us to hold workshops, music production/recording sessions, and practices in your spaces. Your support helped make this journey possible. Thank you to all of the artists, ISPro Academy students, and producers who helped bring this EP to life. Your creativity, energy, and commitment made this project what it is. And thank you to everyone who attended, supported, shared, and believed in this journey. Your presence meant the world to me. To see this vision come full circle in a live setting was something I’ll never forget. This was bigger than a show. This was community. This was collaboration. This was growth. This was Chicago. And it truly meant the world to me to do this. Featuring Sycosis and 7METRIX, “Colors” reflects the struggles of the streetwise in inner-city Chicago and the emotional weight that comes with that reality. This release also highlights 7METRIX’s perspective on the song. His verse speaks to loss, survival, fractured identity, and the painful reality of growing up where young people are often forced to become strong too soon. At the same time, it carries a deeper hope for healing and transformation. 🏙️🎬 NEW MUSIC VIDEO RELEASE: “CITY” 🏙️🔥 The next chapter of I Heard The City Breathe is here. “City” features artists SaINT and Mykah Estelle, bringing emotion, reflection, and honesty to a song that speaks directly to the youth experience in the inner city. This song captures the moment when young people begin to truly see the world around them — the beauty, the pressure, the contradictions, the struggle, and the questions that come with growing up in the city. We’re also excited to highlight SaINT, one of the featured artists on “City.” In his verse, SaINT reflects on feeling alone, witnessing beauty and pain, and trying to make sense of the world around him. His words carry the perspective of a young artist processing life in real time — from memories of childhood innocence to the weight of growing up and realizing that the city can be both inspiring and challenging. Through his verse, SaINT reminds us that pain can become purpose, that stories matter, and that a young voice on the stage can shine bright when given the space to be heard. The “City” music video gives you another powerful look into the world of I Heard The City Breathe — a project rooted in Chicago, Black life, creative expression, and the voices of artists telling their stories through music and film. And we’re bringing this entire experience to the stage.
