On Erev Shabbos our wonderful volunteers will go to nursing homes across the Eastern Suburbs to light candles, say kiddush and make hamotzi. 🕯️ 🍷 🥖

We shmooze, we sing,🎵 Such an atmosphere!
Ear to ear smiles 😊
The residents love it and we love it ❤️

Joining us all the way from Down Under is the renowned Australian children’s entertainer, Uncle Velvel! The kids had an absolute blast as Uncle Velvel serenaded them with songs, delighted them with the sound of the shofar, and engaged them in lively and educational discussions about the holiday season!

He joined us from all the way down under!

🇦🇺 Australian children’s entertainer @unclevelvel made a special appearance at our school this week!

And, oh boy, what an entertainer he is! Our students were thrilled. Singing and dancing along, smiling all the while ☺️ and getting us all excited for Chanukah 🕎!

Ruach through the roof! 🙌🏻

Thanks so much to everyone who joined us for our Sukkot party earlier this month!

We came together for the shaking of the Lulav and Etrog, to decorate the Sukkah with art and craft from Israel, imagine what it must have felt like to sleep outside under the stars, story time with @unclevelvel, and face painting!

Is this Australia’s biggest etrog?

Children’s entertainer Uncle Velvel, from Sydney, grew a whopping 1240 gram etrog in his backyard.

He first noticed the etrog during Pesach and describes it as a gift from God.

“Hashem gave me this etrog,” he told The AJN. “It was the only one on the tree [and has] a most beautiful colour and scent.”

A true Sukkot miracle! 🍋

An Upsherin is a traditional haircutting ceremony when a Jewish boy turns 3. We give tzedakah(charity), cut hair, and taste something sweet on each Hebrew letter . @unclevelvel #jewishtradition #upsherin #mountzionelc
