My queen, my partner, my love

We have been through more in four years than most people in a decade. We are beautifully cursed together to figure this out as we go and make the best of it.

Happy Valentine’s day and happy four years ❤️❤️

It’s getting colder and the mountains are always snowy.

Much school and many adventures

Realized I have not done a proper post since arriving in Iceland a month ago.

There’s lots of hard things you won’t see; The directorate of immigration being an obtrusive disaster, hard days when money wasn’t being wired and we had no groceries, saying goodbye to our piggy dog, just hard helpless days away from home or grinding at school…

But it is still a privilege and the most wonderful adventure coming here, bonding with so many new friends who I can’t imagine life without now

Sadly, after only being able to do a few hours on saturday, #gimliicelandicfestival was canceled due to a blizzard. Had some great moments and my partner got to try the viking life for the first time, representing a Dorset woman, the pre-inuit people who overlapped with vikings in Greenland.

Made the most out of the weekend and blasted out some projects in the workshop. Sea chest in coming together, made a frame saw, handled some tools, roughed out a spade and bow drill, started lasering out small pieces to finish by hand.

The viking age tool kit i’ve cultivated gives me such a feeling of accomplishment.

I almost forgot how great this year was. Everything can be so crazy but looking back on it now, I know i’m the luckiest man in the whole world.

I’ve been feeling down about not writing or reading as much. Feeling like I’m failing and jogging in place. But for the first time in my life I know i’m LIVING. For the first time I’m not trying to be in other worlds, I am truly living.

I know who makes this life so great and I will keep fighting the good fight in this rat race.

Happy New Year 🥳

2022 was probably the hardest year of my life. I quit a job, lived in Iceland, wrote another book (maybe two?), started a few new jobs, climbed mountains, got Covid, moved out, touched places where vikings walked, learned to drive, took a comic making class, made friends, lost friends, tabled at my first convention, wrote some more, then sprained my ankle.

All of that pales in comparison to finding you, my love. You are everything and I look forward to all we have ahead. We got through this year, nothing can stop us now. Thank you ❤️
