Another good night at a local gig. Shocker.

It’s been almost 30 years since I last saw The Exploited in the 01782, and they certainly didn’t disappoint all these years later. A 70-minute set was always going to leave people wanting a bit more, but it was a decent run through their career and a reminder that Wattie and co are still more than capable of delivering the goods.

The evening took a rather unexpected turn afterwards, though, as my wife was also in town for an after work drinking session . This somehow resulted in me witnessing a member of a well-known Stoke band bizarrely being asked to leave Spoons for no apparent reason. All before donning my unofficial taxi driver’s cap and eventually getting people home.

The Exploited had finished playing more than two hours earlier. Nothing says rock and roll quite like spending the rest of your evening playing unpaid taxi service for the worse-for-wear office workers. Still, at least I got home in one piece.
