TEDx Alabaster is one week away. I’ve been practicing this morning using a remote control as my microphone and my family pictures as my audience, and I remembered a text message I received last week from my Seester Christie about going after your dreams. She didn’t know it, but she gently reminded me to keep going.

My prayer group, Ebony and Ivory, has been praying for me, and then my Wendi Jo sent me an encouraging message that brought tears to my eyes. And yes, some of them got me together about my outfit. But that’s what sisters are for, right? Riiiiight. 🤣🤣🤣

This journey has also reminded me that support is a verb. My close friends are coming. I have a few Burn sisters coming, and I have colleagues coming. And of course Team Davis and my Mommy and Auntie— but that’s a given. What I realized while practicing this morning is that while I’m the one delivering this talk next Saturday, I am not carrying it alone. When I step on that red circle, every prayer spoken, every encouraging text, every session with my TEDx Coach, and every practice my husband and Austin experienced by default will be with me. I had a busy work week out of town last week and have multiple presentations this upcoming week, but I know it will be okay. We have no clue what we are capable of doing until we have no choice but to do it. So, why not believe for the best anyway? I’m simply someone who keeps trusting God, takes the next step, and learns what I’m capable of after the commitment, with a strong village surrounding me. And for that, I’m thankful. Plus, the goal is always to bring Him glory and make Team Davis and myself proud. That’s it, that’s all.

I am standing in the season of celebrations and answered prayers.

✨
✨
✨

I was out more last week than I think I was all of last year. And if you know me, you know I’m an introvert with extrovert tendencies. I love my quiet. I love my prayer room. I love being home.

But God calls us into community.

He never designed us to celebrate alone. He never designed us to grieve alone. He never designed us to build alone. And this week was a reminder that some of the most beautiful moments of our lives happen when we show up for one another.

✨ I attended the most beautiful wedding; a living, breathing answered prayer.
✨ I celebrated my best friend turning 50; five decades of faithfulness, laughter, and growth.
✨ I had dinner with one of my favs.
✨ Ate tons of caviar with the coolest seven-year-old known to man and a funny first timer.
✨ My sister had a successful fundraiser for Unless U and hosted a sweet bridal shower in the same weekend.
✨ Another bestie released a Grief Journal; turning pain into purpose.
✨ My little sister Jessica published her book, allowing years of writing to become obedience on paper.

Answered prayers.
Hard work.
Faith in motion.
Lots of dancing.
And I got to witness it all.

Sometimes we pray for the breakthrough, and sometimes we get to stand in the room when it happens. Community is holy ground. Celebration is worship. And showing up matters more than we realize.

If God is nudging you to call someone, support someone, celebrate someone, do it. There is nothing more magical than watching what He promised come to pass.

I am beyond thankful and overjoyed to reach 1,000 career points as a junior!!
Most of all I thank God but also a big thank you to my family and everyone who has supported me and will continue to support me. Thank you Sarah for challenging and pushing me to get better!!
Thank you Coach D, Coach Mike, Coach Ike, Coach Chris, Chelsea, and Coach Andrews for believing in me and pushing me every day through trainings, practices and workouts. Lots of Love to everyone who has supported me i couldn’t be more grateful.💗💗💗
My only wish is that my grandmother was here to see this moment. Even though she isn’t, I know I’ve made her proud, and I’ll continue to make her proud in everything I do.
