Day 15, the second last of the trip. After a quick nosh at the local coffee shop I set out for Shawnigan Lake to get onto the Cowichan Valley Trail, which was a beautiful but brutally steep gravel climb to get to the south part of the Island. Luckily, Pelle joined me for this leg of the trip and made the ride feel way shorter and more enjoyable.

It wasn’t long before I was at the final camp spot of the trip and eating the final dinner. With a relatively empty site it was easy to get a good sleep in preparation for the final day.

Day 15 stats:

Distance: 57km
Elevation: 1,170m
Elapsed time: 5h57m

I’m still buzzing from the @squamish_enduro on Sunday. I’ve ridden mountain bikes for a long time, but this was the first time racing between the tape - and wow! What an experience.

50km 2000m of elevation and 5 gruelling black/double black stages really set the tone for an epic day behind the bars. It was so cool to experience my local trails with my new co-workers at @oneupcomponents.

Special thanks to @kellyholtan and @karlyy_michelle for somehow appearing at almost every stage to support.
