Thanks to our generous members and charitable donations from the community, United Adworkers raised $2k for @miadcollege at our membership celebration last week, fully endowing the Rich Kohnke scholarship!

Apparently, United Adworkers is now officially old enough to forget its own age. So, your board of directors has voted to strike 2020 from the record, which means United Adworkers is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Yes, it’s overdue. But we’re going to make it count—with a party held at Enlightened Brewing Co. on April 7th, including a membership drive, live music, food, drink, and games, as well as a silent auction fundraiser for Rich Kohnke’s MIAD scholarship fund.

As the season changes, and as Coronavirus rates continue trending downward, United Adworkers is renewing its focus on the future. That means continuing the things you’ve enjoyed from previous years like intramural sports, trivia nights, the annual golf outing, a reimagined 99 Show, as well as a recommitment to in-person educational, networking events, and mentor programs.

Another important aspect of creating a bright future for the club and our industry is having a talented pool of marketing professionals not only for us to hire, but to inspire. Sadly, two years ago we lost Rich Kohnke—an amazingly talented individual that raised the games of those around him and the status of our city as a great place to create great work. To honor his contributions, this event will also feature a special silent art auction to help fund a MIAD scholarship in his name.

Fermi Paradox - Double dry hopped hazy IPA made with loads of Citra, Citra Cryo, and BRU-1 hops, 3 kinds of oats, wheat, and pilsner malt.
.
DDH Turbulent Flow - Pale lager made with Czech yeast, double dry hopped with Cashmere and El Dorado hops. Some might call this an "IPL" or "Cold IPA", but that's not very Amorphic.
.
Weakly Interacting Minor Particles - Czech dark Lager with coffee malt (no actual coffee). Flavors and aromas
of roasted malt and black coffee. Complex but easy drinking winter lager.
.
The Horse You Rode in On (crowler) - AZ inspired kettle sour loaded with large amounts of cactus fruit and hibiscus flowers. Pours a brilliant magenta-pink hue. Vegan. Contains Sulfites. Must be kept cold.

Calibration Curves (crowler) - New school meets old school. West coast meets East Coast IPA. Malty, bitter, with fruity citrus and pine aromas. Pours a dark golden orange color, slightly hazy from an old school dry hop.

UltraBold is a campaign created to inspire the next generation of BIPOC designers to pursue their creative passions. When teens don’t see designers who look like them, it can be hard for them to picture themselves pursuing a design career.

UltraBold shares the stories of successful BIPOC creatives through a motion graphics video series to show teens how others have made it, and that they can, too. These videos link to the UltraBold website, which features curated resources, articles, and other media created specifically for teenagers and young adults with no prior design experience.

Today we mourn the loss of our teammate, colleague and friend, David Bolyard, following a tough-as-nails battle with cancer. Dave has been an instrumental part of our team since the very beginning.
