Self portrait Looking Up.

My goal for this painting wasn't to take a side. It shows where most of us actually stand. Nearly everything we know about UFOs comes secondhand: a pilot's account, a blurry video, a friend of a friend. Or a sketch like the one in the painting, Bob Lazar's drawing of the craft he worked on at S-4.

The painting puts you in that same position. You never see what the figure sees. All you get is someone else's drawing and a glint of light in the lenses.

Curiosity keeps us looking. Frustration comes from never quite knowing.

“They’re here.” According to Bob Lazar, those two words appeared beneath posters depicting a flying saucer hovering over the Nevada desert and he claimed copies were displayed throughout the secretive S-4 facility where he said he worked. In interviews, Lazar described the image as looking like a professionally printed commercial poster, featuring the craft he nicknamed the “Sport Model.” He said the posters struck him as strange because he believed he was inside a highly classified installation where he was allegedly assigned to study unconventional propulsion technology. Why would a facility supposedly hiding the existence of unusual aircraft display an image with such a blunt message? Lazar said he never understood the reasoning behind it, but the poster became one of the more memorable details of his account. His story helped make S-4 a major part of modern UFO lore, alongside his claims about recovered craft and reverse engineering programs.

The Travis Walton incident occurred on November 5, 1975, in the Apache–Sitgreaves National Forests near Heber, Arizona. Walton and six co-workers reported seeing a hovering disc emitting a beam of light. Walton approached it, was struck by the beam, and vanished. A large search effort followed, and he reappeared five days later, in this exact phone booth, disoriented and dehydrated. 🛸🌀#traviswalton #ufofiles #xfiles #northernarizona #arizona
