The first few months after buying a home can feel exciting and oddly educational.

You learn where the water shutoff is. You get mail that looks official but may not be. You realize maintenance has a way of introducing itself quickly. You start caring about property lines, repairs, bills, and paperwork in a way you never did before.

That does not mean homeownership is scary.

It means buyers deserve to be prepared for the real life part, not just the closing day part.

This heat isn't messing around, and neither is dehydration.
So if you've been outside, working in the yard, hiking, chasing kids, or out at the pool, don't forget!

Drink the water. Eat something with electrolytes. Don't make this heat any harder than it already is.
