I might not have won a crown, but I earned the respect of my community, the love of my people, and something far more valuable: the certainty that I never needed a title to know my worth.

I went to @universalwomanofficial carrying a dream, and I came home carrying an experience that will stay with me for a lifetime.

I am proud of the woman who stepped onto that stage, proud of the country I represented, and proud of the way I chose to show up.

Because winning isn’t always about what you take home. Sometimes, it’s about what you leave behind: the lives you touch, the doors you open, and the women you inspire to believe in themselves.

The crown was the dream. The impact is the legacy.

And my story is far from over. 🇨🇺❤️

P.S. I had been saving these photos because this was originally meant to be my preliminary evening gown. Unfortunately, things didn’t go quite as planned, and I never got to wear it on stage.
But every beautiful dress deserves its moment. ❤️

En el 2013 fui Cuba 🇨🇺 en Reina Hispanoamericana pero en aquel entonces no tenía experiencia ninguna en los certámenes y no sabía a lo que iba .
Por muchos años soñe con volver a representar a mi país en un escenario internacional, sentir ese orgullo de llevar conmigo mis raíces y enseñarle al mundo lo bella que es mi gente, no solo porque mi tierra tiene mujeres hermosas pero más allá de eso porque nuestra esencia es una de hermandad y de siempre afrontar las cosas de la manera más positiva. Esas son las cualidades que me inculcó nacer en un país como Cuba 🇨🇺

Mi meta en @universalwomanofficial siempre fue mostrarme auténtica , sin estar montada en ningún papel . Que cada una de mis compañeras se llevaran una palabra de aliento hacia ellas , y hoy me siento tan orgullosa de mi! Orgullosa de haber cumplido mi sueño de gritar Cuba 🇨🇺 en un escenario internacional una vez más, orgullosa de haber representado bien…. Porque sé que lo hice bien.
Orgullosa que fui “bold” y tomé riesgos. Riesgos con mi look y riesgos en mi entrevista con el jurado.
No di una entrevista típica de concursos. Dí una entrevista de una mujer que sabe lo que quiere y que no le tiene miedo a ser ella misma. Y lo que me han costado esas lecciones y aprendizajes!!

Sisi no es para todo el mundo. Estoy consciente de eso.

Por mucho tiempo, y sobre todo en los concursos de belleza me han dicho: “tú tienes un look diferente”, “tu tienes un look exótico”, “tu tienes un look esto, lo otro.” A veces de forma positiva y a veces no tanto y sabes que? …
Que bueno! Que bueno ser diferente. Qué bueno que me a tocado en esta vida hacer las cosas diferentes , no tener una vida convencional porque eso le da más fuerza a mi propósito. Mi propósito que es ayudarte a ti a ser más valiente, a ser más segura, a dejar tus miedos atrás.

A ti mujer que me lees , sigue hacia adelante. Cumple TODOS tus sueños. No dejes que nadie te diga que tu edad es un impedimento, que tus condiciones financieras o sociales te atan a una vida que no te hace feliz. No dejes que “ser diferente” te defina de manera negativa. Abraza tus cualidades únicas …
