Unmovable Studios Presents @boxkite.shop
Home of USP inhouse brands, perennial archive vintage and designer capsules, footwear and objects.

Unmovable Studios is a multidisciplinary design studio with Japanese American influence directed by Yohei @unmovable
Unmovable Store, founded in 2014, has been his residency at Highland Throwbacks Akron since 2018.

Carrying out his responsibilities here alongside Highland Throwbacks founder Ben Hyle has given him invaluable insight in vintage, culture and most importantly people.
In recent times, Yohei felt the imperative to world build a surrounding environment that significantly influences how pieces are viewed.

For this bold endeavor he worked in collaboration with William Sabetta of Working Days Studios. They decided to implement a design language known as Frutiger Aero because it’s characterized by it’s blend of nature and technology. Thus creating a bright futuristic linear structure giving the guest the experience of a futuristic world that they were hoping for.

“Boxkite” ボックスカイト was the appointed name for the space as a metaphor because of it’s boxkite like modular structure. Our favorite thought is that the Boxkite string is the connection and bridge of the past and the future and will always be connected from it’s humble beginnings at Highland Throwbacks.

We feel that coming to Highland Throwbacks and Boxkite is a beautiful display and marriage of the modern retail experience where sustainability and creativity are in the forefront.

We’d like to thank the team for making this project possible
