What an incredible weekend. As many of you know, I've been doing Brainspotting in my own therapy for years now. And I've been on this journey to become a therapist for even longer. So as I started to see first hand the power that Brainspotting has to help heal trauma first hand, I knew I wanted to use it myself when I begin practicing. With my practicum starting next semester I knew it was time. Getting to learn about the practice from this side of things was more moving than I anticipated. I connections with some amazing providers and was honored to hold space for and be witness to the stories and healing of everyone there. I can't wait for phase 2 and to implement #brainspotting into my future practice. On a fun note, @katruttenbur_counseling finally got to meet each other after months of supporting one another on Instagram and having no idea we would each be there! We really do have such a wonderful and supportive community that I'm so proud to be a part of! #futuretherapist #truamahealing #therapy #therapyjourney #TherapistLife #TherapistNiche What training are you excited for next?

Special time with this crew of MOTH counselors at MTSU this weekend. Interesting how beautifully brainspotting builds from EMDR. I’ve had the gift of doing some CO-therapy in the past when clients couldn’t regulate enough or were too activated to do EMDR and then—being able to do CO-therapy with my clients and one of our Brainspotting Clinicians, so those clients could get through their trauma. Those beautiful experiences helped me buy into Brainspotting…..FINALLY- and it’s been a gorgeous weekend with these 5 healing our stuff and learning new ways to help our clients heal! Love our team. Love our work family. So so proud of all of our counselors desire to continue to grow and be the best “wounded healers” you can be! Seeking out excellence and specializations to really hone in on your gifts. I firmly believe and share with our team— “YOU CAN ONLY TAKE PEOPLE AS FAR AS YOU’VE GONE YOURSELF…” In our group we require our counselors to have their own therapists, and to know what their “stuff” is. Because while it can help inform your specialization, it can also get activated in our work with clients- and we hold a lot of space for honesty to own our stuff and keep working on those things. We are ALL Wounded Healers and it’s beautiful to hold space and ache WITH our clients aS they journey through healing. NOW: we have 5 more- newly trauma informed clinicians, 2 of which are interns! So if you’re curious… and finances feel burdensome- contact us we can connect you to an affordable option! #brainspotting #woundedhealers #mattersoftheheartcounselingtn #mattersoftheheartcounseling #mattersofthehearttn #hendersonvilletn #gallatintn #goodlettsvilletn #traumahealing #igotocounseling #therapyiscool
