Be intelligent with this, don’t try to be some type of hero where you’re in a tank top and short shorts as the weather gets much cooler 😂.

We all know we get USED to weather the more we’re in it though, and if you’re wearing proper clothing while still training outside you absolutely will create adaptations to that.

It is also obvious with the research that being outside is unbelievably good for our health, so let’s keep that going with cooler weather.

“Until death, all defeat is psychological.”
-
You don’t lose in ventures you take on unless you choose to give up or you stop breathing.
-
Being able to get uncomfortable for a while is key to achieving what you want.
-
But most will not get uncomfortable because they aren’t willing to take the risk.
-
This is also defeat. Defeat before you even tried.
-
If you truly want what you tell yourself, then get uncomfortable, get to work, and don’t stop.

Merry Monday y’all! LFG!😈

I’m grateful to have found a community that welcomed me in and made me feel like I belong.

There was a time when I don’t think I could have been part of something like this. Recovery has changed the way I show up, the way I connect with people, and what I’m able to be present for.

I’m thankful to be around people who keep challenging themselves, push each other to grow, and still make space for laughter and friendship along the way.

The workouts matter. The people matter even more. Grateful to be here, and grateful to everyone who made room for me.

By the way, I’m ALL about the skills coaches and the med spas and other things that are “specialization”, but not when they are treated as foundational.

If your diet isn’t 80-90% phenomenal week in and week out, you using peptides isn’t going to help you.

If you could be blown over by a gust of wind, you working with your “sports specific” skills coaches three times a week is damn near pointless.

Lock in the foundation first.

For young athletes (because of their growth potential) and general population who lack exercise in their routine or have for a long time, the beginning stages of your training are overall pretty straightforward.

1. Have the diet in check to a certain degree, prioritizing Whole Foods, quality micronutrient filled foods and proper macronutrient distribution.
2. Increase your moderate/intense exercise time per week. For young athletes this can also include things like free play with your family and with your friends. For Gen Pop, this can include things like walking and intense strength training.

Straightforward is the way, do you agree?

This is extremely prevalent with contact sports (which I love) plus dudes who weight lift believing they’re these unhinged beasts just because they train.

Most of you aren’t even ready to run a mile, much less the idea of taking someone else’s life. You might think it makes you look super tough if you say shit like “I’ll kill you” at the drop of a hat, but it just makes you look like a complete bitch.

Instead of acting, go train martial arts, with firearms and make sure your exercise is at a top notch level so you’re focused on CAPABILITY instead of having to play this tough guy character.

Do you think you’re a killer?

First Monday Check In -

Hit the steps.
Hit the macros.
Hit the gym.
Hit the ideal weight loss pace.

It’s common to feel excited at the beginning of a long-term change. The key is to maintain these behaviors week after week.

Onward!

Modern life is mostly spent in three positions: standing, sitting, or lying down.
-
This week, try and break that.
-
Do something besides just those three.
-
Go for a walk, stretch outside, climb a big hill, or go hike in the woods.
-
Physical ability rarely disappears overnight, but will fade from little to no use.
-
The body is trained for tomorrow based on what it is asked to do today.
-
So do something with it this week.
-
Don’t take the ability to move for granted.

Merry Monday y’all! LFG!😈

“Optimal” exercise selection has rightfully received a lot of attention in the past couple years as a topic in the fitness industry.

While it is often misguided, it absolutely can be a fair thing to label an exercise as non optimal, especially depending on your client or athlete.

Again, think “what am I trying to accomplish here?”. Is it to utilize movements that give good stimuli for muscle growth and performance enhancement? Ok then naturally there will be movements that are excluded in that conversation.

Are you having trouble with your own exercise selection?
