Mentorship matters. 📈

In this feature, we hear from @untethered_dj (Doron) about his experience completing the inaugural season of the DJ course at Again & Again Lab.

Learning directly from the @perspectiv.duo provided an unmatched learning curve, pushing boundaries from technical mixing to crowd connection.

Hear his insights from the booth. 🎧

This night meant a lot to us. In just 4 weeks, we watched our students step out of their comfort zones and grow into themselves as DJs. They found their voice, trusted their instincts, and had the courage to share music with a crowd — some of them for the very first time.

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘶𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘥 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘥 — 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘱 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦, 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦, 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵.

And this is only the beginning. Thanks to their effort, doors are already opening. Soon you’ll be seeing them behind the decks at some of Vancouver’s top venues 〰️ announcements coming soon.

Stay tuned.

☀️ The summer sun had other plans for us the first time… but the Flying Sage Pool Party is officially happening tomorrow, Sunday Sept 7 (11–5) 🎉

We’re bringing together an incredible crew of DJs, facilitators & playful instigators to keep the vibes high:

🎶 Untethered (Doron Bandel) — weaving Afro-infused rhythms & lush electronic soundscapes into a dancefloor journey of freedom + connection

🎶 DJ #1 Dad — playful blends of 70’s + 80’s grooves reimagined for today

🎶 Giles — bringing his own late-summer heat

🌀 Alireza Jambor — guiding contact play + fluid movement to spark joy + connection

💨 Aga Postawska & Deus Fortier — grounding us with breathwork + stirring laughter through playful group connection

🎨 Kelsey Currier — inviting you to co-create a collaborative community art piece, a living memento of the day

Between dips in the heated pool, time in the cedar sauna, and sips from the sober bar — you’ll experience music, movement, breath, art, and connection all in one soulful day ✨

This isn’t just a pool party. It’s a full-spectrum celebration of summer, community, and joy 🌈💛

💿 Quick recap from our first Vinyl class at Again & Again Lab — we went back to the roots with our Intro to Vinyl led by 𝑬𝒗 𝑶’𝑹𝒆𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒚.

Irish-born and Vancouver-based, Ev carries a signature sound of dub, deep grooves, and precise selections. In this session, he reminded us what the art of vinyl really is: 𝘴𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯, 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺.

Students got hands-on with analog gear and explored the techniques behind a format that shaped the history and culture of electronic music.
