NEW seasonal menu !! 🍁 This Uptown spot just released THREE new drinks to hard launch into the ‘Ber months! 🎃 Pumpkin Spice Latte 🍎 Caramel Apple Latte 🍵 Maple Matcha Latte 📍 @unwindcafe.mn As a hard launch into September I ordered a hot Pumpkin spice latte with light syrups and the consensus was….it’s perfect! Not too sweet and I’d most definitely order it again! I’m Joy, I’ve been called “the coffee blogger” and I’m passionate about supporting small, local coffee shops and I’m on a mission to try aaaall of the newest seasonal drinks! If that’s something you like too, follow along for more!

Good evening everyone!👋🏼 Got a late night post for ya :) —————————————————— 🗺️THIS WEEK’S WINNER/LOCATION🧭 Visit 287: @unwindcafe.mn 🐦‍⬛ Address: 822 W Lake Street, Minneapolis, MN 55408📍 Recommended by: Reilly (@rust.face )🗣️ —————————————————— 📰THE SCOOP🗞️ OKAY so imagine this: A bright, warm & cozy space with huge windows bringing in tons of natural sunlight. There’s a long booth along the windows, plenty of tables & lounge chairs, plants throughout & warm wood tones contrasting with the white brick and black accents.☀️🌿 I had the pleasure of speaking with Sam, Unwind’s owner. He’s from Guangdong, China, he moved to Seattle before attending the U of M for finance & later earned his Master’s in Marketing in Virginia. He’s a coffee lover, Sam saved up to make Unwind happen & took the leap into opening his first shop.☕️ For my coffee nerds out here, they’re currently serving coffee roasted by SEY in Brooklyn, with beans from Peru & Ecuador. They also offer off-menu pour overs. He is constantly exploring coffee too—they recently sampled Onyx coffees, including a Gesha.🧐 Fun Fact: The bird in Unwind’s branding represents being able to land, hang out & preen for awhile—the same feeling Sam wants people to have here. No pressure to move on, just… Unwind.🐦 Words of Wisdom from Sam: Spend a lot of time thinking & prepping before making a decision-things can go wrong expect the worst & hope for the best!🧠 “Yeah it can be stressful, but it’s about the interactions everyday, it’s a part of people’s lives, that’s why we do it.” —————————————————— 🤔FINAL THOUGHTS💭 Okay so this was a 2 part visit. Sunday was PACKED & he was training a staff member so we came back for chat on the Tuesday. I liked his story a lot, he is a guy that loves coffee & went all in on something he cares about. With no prior experience he put in a little extra in their time, equipment, & staff, really understanding the risk it of it all. The space is a cozy one to work at, coffee was solid, & the conversation was great. Go support them!👍🏼 Today’s Drinks: Strawberry Matcha, Iced Americano & Orange Espresso Tonic🍓🍵☕️🍊

it’s really easy to get burnt out on a job your passionate about when it’s frankly just hard. journalism is so important, but it’s also TAXING. so while i “don’t need”. a blueberry muffin and a strawberry matcha, i do need it to get through the day, and that’s really all the validation you need. anyways, keep fighting the good fight!
