How are you celebrating #WorldTourismDay?
In honor of #WTD2018, share your favorite travel memory below or respond to our story #happytravels 🌐

This photo was taken by editor @ashley_stravel, who just got back from @intrepidtravel's Sabah Adventure tour. Here's a little more about what tourism means to her: "Tourism, i.e. the ability to travel, is a privilege that should not be taken for granted. I feel honored to be able to experience other cultures and the world and share not only inspiring moments, like this village homestay from Borneo but also the not-so-glamorous side of travel with you guys."

For #tourism to be the global development vehicle it has the potential to be, political support on all levels is vital.

#Spain, home to UNWTO HQ and the world’s second largest destination by both international tourist arrivals and receipts, is firmly committed to sustainable #tourism as a vehicle for achieving the #GlobalGoals. Earlier this week #UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili met Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez @sanchezcastejon, thanking him for championing #Tourism4SDGs 🌍 🇪🇸
