Sharing moments from behind the scenes of UofT Opera
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
What a start to the season! Still processing the excitement of singing in the Four Seasons Centre with UofT Opera on Friday, and filled with immense gratitude of performing as a finalist for the Jim and Charlotte Norcop Prize on Tuesday. Next up comes a very exciting period of exploring new opera with Fall River: The Legend of Lizzie Borden. After a sing-through and table read with Cecilia and Michael this week, I am feeling incredibly inspired to explore Abby Borden and the crazy dynamics of this story. Looking forward to the process!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📸: Natalie Ngyuen

New headshot just dropped! So super excited for another year of performances at @uoftopera! Feeling so lucky to spend every day learning from this talented group. The little girl in Moose Jaw whose favourite movie was ‘Phantom of the Opera’ would literally not believe my life right now! 💌

🎵 WHAT IF YOU COULD PLAY A PAINTING? 🎵 I began Serialist Painting by building one image entirely from hundreds of other images. Years later, I moved from pictures to book pages—creating paintings that could literally be read. Now I’ve moved from literature into music. Tristan und Isolde reimagines Aubrey Beardsley through Wagner’s actual score—hand-painted, cut, collaged and transformed into a contemporary Serialist Painting. From something you can see, to something you can read, to something you can play. Ten years into this experiment, I’m blissfully realizing I’ve barely scratched the surface.
