it still hasn’t hit me that I actually did it! I did the damn thing and graduated college with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing! 🎓🩺💅🏻

when the program you dreamed of & waited so long to get into actually felt like it flew by in a blink of an eye, it’s truly bittersweet. 🥲

i’m forever thankful for the education I received, the opportunities I was given, and the amazing people I met along the way! especially sadee & hope, I would not have made it without those two! 🤍

huge thank you to my family & friends for the love and support that you have all shown! there were times I did not think I could continue on but you all kept me going. 🥹❤️

papa, one of the main reasons I chose to pursue a career in oncology nursing. thank you for the years of love, support, and encouragement you showed me. this is for you & I sure hope I made you proud! 💞🕊️

“I’ve always had a passion to serve and really like science, but I didn’t think I had a path to college. I am a first-generation American—my parents came to the U.S. from Oaxaca, Mexico—and no one in my family had attended college. I was accepted into the U’s College of Nursing and received a Miller Scholarship, which really helped. In 2021, I graduated with an honors bachelor’s degree in nursing and a minor in ethnic studies.

Now I’m a nurse and taking care of folks in the burn trauma ICU and I’ll soon start training in the medical ICU.

But I decided to come back to finish a full bachelor’s degree in ethnic studies to continue to educate myself on social issues, American history and the struggles of ethnic groups in the United States.” #HumansOfTheU #UtahGrad24 🎓
