Potential is everywhere.
Opportunity is not.

As a @uopeople.official Ambassador in Haiti, my mission is to help bridge the gap between education and the young people who face financial and structural barriers to accessing it.

Over the weekend, through @uopeople.official partnership, I had the privilege of leading an entrepreneurship workshop for @grace_for_haiti_children , sharing practical knowledge on marketing, understanding customers, presenting a business, and turning ideas into sustainable opportunities.

In Haiti, where so many young people face barriers to employment and economic growth, sharing knowledge is more than teaching.

It is investing in potential, building confidence, and opening doors to a different future.

I believe education is not only about what we learn, but how we use that knowledge to empower others.

PART 1 | INVESTING IN HAITI’S NEXT GENERATION.

Potential is everywhere. Opportunity is not.

Over the weekend, our founder, serving as an active ambassador for @uopeople.official helped bring knowledge, entrepreneurship, and opportunity to young people in Haiti through our first Youth Entrepreneurship Workshop.

Through this partnership, we are investing in three young men from underserved communities as they take the first steps toward building their own businesses.

But investing in their future means more than providing financial support. It means equipping them with the knowledge, tools, and practical skills to turn their ideas into sustainable businesses.

During this workshop, we explored the fundamentals of entrepreneurship: understanding your vision, developing a business idea into a professional venture, identifying community needs, and building a business with purpose.

Because lasting change happens when young people have both the resources to begin and the knowledge to grow.

We are grateful to @uopeople.official for championing access to education and to everyone who continues to invest in the potential of Haiti’s youth.

In a country where too many young people face barriers to employment, education, and economic opportunity, we choose to invest in potential, create access, and build pathways to independence.

We work where opportunity is limited because we know talent is not.

Americans owe $1.66 trillion in student loans. Something has to change.

Higher education should open doors, not leave students burdened by debt.

That’s why I founded @UoPeople.official: to make quality, tuition-free higher education accessible to everyone.

📚💻 My First-Term Experience as a CS Student

My first term at UoPeople has been a learning experience in many ways. 🤍
One thing I’ve struggled with is understanding the course readings. Sometimes, I would read something and still wonder, “What does this actually mean?” 😅

I tried watching YouTube videos to understand the topics better. It helped a little, especially when I watched a tutorial and tried practising along with it.
I’m still learning how to study effectively and understand things in my own way. Some topics take more time than others, and that’s okay.

I’ve realised that I can’t expect myself to understand everything on the first try. Sometimes, I need to watch an explanation again, practise a little more, and be patient with myself.
I’m still figuring things out, but I’m trying my best to keep going, even when learning feels difficult. 🥲

I guess that’s part of being a student — not knowing everything, making mistakes, and learning along the way. 🤍

✨ A little reminder to myself: It’s okay to take your time. Progress is still progress, even when it’s slow.

💬 If you’re a student too, what helps you understand difficult topics? Do you prefer reading, watching videos, or practising yourself?

It was a pleasure meeting Mo Ibrahim at the recent philanthropy summit in Monaco.

As the founder of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, he has dedicated himself to promoting good governance, democracy, and strong leadership across Africa.

I deeply admire his commitment to creating lasting change.

At University of the People, we share a similar belief in the power of opportunity. Through accessible, tuition-free higher education, we’re working to open doors for students across Africa who might otherwise be left behind.

We may approach these challenges differently, but we share a common goal: helping people build a better future.

It was wonderful to meet him and learn more about his inspiring work.

What does a college degree really mean? 🎓

For a refugee, it can mean hope.

For a parent, a better future for their children.

For someone who never thought higher education was possible, it can mean a dream coming true.

At University of the People, I’ve seen how education can transform lives in ways that go far beyond the classroom.

A degree is more than a piece of paper. It’s an opportunity to build a better future.

And I believe everyone deserves that opportunity.

What has education meant to you?
