JoAnn haul. Stocking up on fabric and it's all washed and ironed. Now to finally get back into crafting.

It will be a sad day when JoAnn's closing ✂️

It's getting steamy up in here!

Today I was listening to a podcast that talked about examining things that bring you joy/pleasure. I am going to say ironing new fabric is one of those things for me. Along with sorting objects. Currently sorting buttons and I used to sort my friends beer caps. It's the small things that we shouldn't overlook in our lives.

What brings you joy?

It is always pumpkin season in this house.

I am so thankful that Amanda let me bring my pumpkin in for the photoshoot

Big shout out to @kattgoddes for helping me break in the new space with some art making and tarot reading! Diana came in with beautiful energy and so much creativity and openness. I can’t express enough how important it is to be open to the experience and to allow yourself to be a little vulnerable during these sessions. It makes a world of difference - not only in the final results but also to begin building what I always hope will be a lasting friendship! I began working on Diana’s set during a pretty big health scare I had earlier this month, and the final set was 20 images deep, so it was a slow motion kinda ride. Every time I sent a few edits over there would be an honest exchange… updates about things going on in both of our lives. Like talking to an old trusted friend! This is how we build: our friendships, our community, our chosen family. By being brave and sharing deep experiences - experiences like making art with someone who was once a perfect stranger! Sharing space - both physical space and heart space. Art is so intimate. And the baring of souls really does go both ways throughout the process. I’m so glad to have met you, Diana! I truly can’t wait until we meet again - to make more art (all the gold mirrors!!) and also to have a little market event where we can sell the things we create… together! Oh! Spoiler alert: I will be hosting some pop up shops and mini maker market events in my new Philly studio later this year! And I hope to have the honor of having Diana back in to sell her adorable handmade velvet pumpkins! (Check out @upcycledfatcat!) All repurposed materials, real pumpkin stems, always made with love! Until then, these are just a few of my favorite shots we got from our set!

Can you find all the hidden velvet pumpkins?? Scroll through the photos, pinch and zooooom!

Pumpkin of the Day #32. Color: Snow leopard white

You might be curious as to why I have been posting these pumpkins in my stories. For those of you that don't know I have a side hustle crafting hobby. I love making upcycled crafts and this year my goal is to create a website around August. So I am stocking up inventory. Please give my other account @upcycledfatcat a follow.
