As we celebrate Heritage Month, let us honour this iconic Neo-Romanesque and Cape Dutch landmark. The Old Arts Building, which dates back to 1910, tells a million stories about our rich heritage and academic history. It has witnessed generations of learning, growth, and transformation, and today it is home to our UP Museums, Archives, and the Mapungubwe Archives. Unlike any other building on the Hatfield Campus, the Old Arts Building portrays our commitment to preserving the past while inspiring the future.
