Knitting buddy is back! And hatching a hat, of course. MC: @upnorthyarns “Cantaloupe” on bulky. CC: @wekuyarn “Homecoming” on mohair/silk. Pattern: #arcticsnowbirdhat by @kalurah — though now that I’ve cabled a round with 2 strands of mohair 🫣 I might just do 2-3 repeats of the birds and switch to stockinette for the crown… It totally feels like I’m knitting orange sherbet! 🍧🧡 #oslothewonderdog #knittingtheworldtogether

Please allow me to tell you about this very special shawl. This is the #innovationshawl by me @chitchatknits It was my great privilege to design this gorgeous knitted shawl for Monica @upnorthyarns But why are the photos in black and white? Well, because this shawl is knit in a gorgeous Advent skein set that is based on the artwork of Georgia O’Keeffe. Each section of the pattern uses a different mini skein as well as some of the full skein and is based on a piece of O’Keeffe’s work. Don’t worry, you aren’t too late @upnorthyarns still has some kits available!! The pattern is included in the kit, but is also available on Ravelry. I will show you the shawl in full color, but in a few months when the kits have been sent out.

This magical subscription box corresponds with each of the sabbats, or seasonal celebrations, in the Wheel of the Year. Our first box will be inspired by the moody and reflective sabbat Samhain, observed on October 31st.

The changing leaves mean Snow Day Fibers is switching to fall hours! 🍂 (Resuming my day job as a teacher might play a role in this change as well. 😬)

Stay tuned for more fall updates! New classes and a very magical subscription with @upnorthyarns will be announced soon! ❤️
