PAMA - It's been a month and I miss you already. What an incredible time connecting with colleagues from around the world and even spending a bit more time with those who are close.

I love seeing how many Circus Fusion alumni are involved in the community and sharing the things that they love though brilliant presentations.

#CircusScience made a memorable and remarkable impact on the conference!

The group from University of Puget Sounds's Physical Therapy program did an absolutely stupendous job presenting our circus shoulder research. The students presented the data clearly and did a great job answering questions from the audience with confidence and humor. They freaking killed it! It was so good.

I had the privilege of presenting on concussions with two incredible Circus Fusion alumni, Liz Corwin, DPT who is our circus concussion go to clinician here in Seattle, and Krystle Celis-Palaganas, MS, ATC and Rehab & Movement Science PhD Candidate at Azusa Pacific University.

The panel on concussion was full of powerhouses from across the performing arts spectrum. I was honored to join Kristen Schuyten, DPT; Allyssa Memmini, AT/ATC, PhD; Lauren McIntyre, AT/ATC in a deep dive on how we can make a difference.

Fusion Alumni Natsuko Oshima, DPT made us think about how to move outside your normal box to discover another dimension of movement.

And I had the pleasure of seeing other Fusion Alumni Kathryn O'Brien and Edwin Jung 9oh my gosh I know I am missing folks!!!

And of course friends and colleagues I have had the pleasure of connecting with through the years and love getting to see each year. You make my cup full and make me feel like we are all on one big team caring for the artists in the world. Thank you

Finally, thank you NYC. I always miss you and it was great to be back! Until next year!

🚨 LAST CHANCE 🚨

We’re wrapping up data collection this week for our two year long study! 🎉

@thecircusdoc and the @upsdptprogram are looking for artists to be a part of a study aiming to establish norms for a novel strength testing in circus artists. The study will consist of ~45 mins of shoulder strength testing. We’re looking for circus artists who have been training for at least 3 years and currently train at least 2 days a week for a total of 4 hours a week or more. They also need the participants to not have any current neck, shoulder, or arm pain and to be at least 18 years of age.

We’ll be at @akashaaerialarts in Spanaway WA on Sunday August 23rd from 1-4pm collecting data. We’d love for you to participate! If you’d like to participate please sign up for a time slot in the google sheet linked in @dr.liz.pt bio! If you have any questions please email the head researcher Liz Corwin at lcorwin@pugetsound.edu
