If you lean toward contemporary or modern art, we are betting that Emile Courtin (1923-1997) will delight you! Considered one of the best French Modernist painters, Courtin was born in France at a transformational time in European art. He went on to win numerous prizes and awards at the different Paris Art Salons upon his return to France. Celebrated internationally, his daring use of color was and proportion was riotous and stands out as audacious even today. The color of his work can only be appreciated with the naked eye! Today the works of this superb and singular visionary are present in numerous important private collections as well as museums around the world, such as the Musee des Beaux Arts du Canada and the Musee du Chateau Saint Jean. We've curated a heady mix of styles, genres, sizes and moods from our recent buying trip, and we're beginning to post them on our website and IG shop. Case-in-point: this bold work by Frenchman Georges Ferro-Lagree (b. 1941), of post impressionist style. Born in France and influenced strongly by Pissarro, this artist is very well appreciated worldwide. He has held private exhibitions in New York, San Francisco, Boston, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Geneva, and Lausanne and won the gold medal at the Salon d’Hiver in Paris in 1962. This is a striking oil on canvas that will create a room's focal point; signed lower right in its original frame with verso inscription and certificate of authenticity. Measurements with frame 31”X27”, without frame 23.5”X19.5”. Condition: Excellent

Three years ago, I walked into a lunch interview with Kacey Gilpin and what we like to call “love at first sight.” I left with an assistant job that quickly grew into photo editing, assisting on shoots, and eventually working side by side with her capturing beautiful interiors.

From day one, she welcomed me with open arms in a way I had never experienced. One of the first things I noticed about her is that she is the opposite of a gatekeeper, a quality I find so rare and so valuable. She is a true cheerleader for others, not only believing there is more than enough success to go around, but also freely sharing her resources to help others get there. Somehow she balances running a full-time business, being a single mom of four, dating, nurturing friendships, and still showing up each day with the intention to grow. She really is the epitome of the brilliance of what it means to be a woman and constantly inspires me with all that she carries.
