Kathleen Fu (@urbsvidi) is already well known for her birds–eye perspective, Wimmelbilder–style cityscapes that are dense with detail. This one is especially unique because it was drawn from life.

Kathleen traveled to the 77th floor of the M City Condo building — still under construction at the time — to capture the view of Mississauga, Ontario below. She was invited to do the live drawing for the topping off party celebrating the completion of the building’s construction. The finalized artwork is now displayed at a large scale in the lobby of the building, celebrating the iconic landmarks and vibrant communities of the city.

Perfect day and perfect puzzle for the gazebo! Yes. I did nothing else today ❤️
This puzzle is part of a travelling puzzle circulating through #eastendtorontopuzzleexchange courtesy of @mango_puzzles and @irismoonandthelastpiece
The artwork is by Kathleen Fu, a Toronto based artist who has captured the essence of our beloved ravine. It was such a pleasure building familiar landmarks and finding all of the little characters and items that make the ravine part of our beautiful city.

We’re excited to announce the unveiling of a custom piece by artist and illustrator Kathleen Fu (@urbsvidi) at M3, one of the largest illustrations ever created for a residential condo lobby. The artwork is packed with elements celebrating M City and Mississauga, from recognizable landmarks to hidden gems waiting to be discovered.

Filmmaker, writer, champion of the arts, and founding partner at OniOne, Paula Fleck (@onioneinc), had a blast exploring the artwork’s details, characters, and hidden easter eggs, and we hope you will too.

If you’re an M3 resident or visiting the lobby, we’d love to hear your first reactions to this beautiful piece. DM us, or tag @mcityfuture in your next post for a chance to be included on our feed.

Like ttc, late to game.

It was cold 🌧 ☔️ and lost the warmth in my fingers just as I finished up a lil sewing project waiting in line (girl still gotta multi task) but successfully made it inside WAY before the crowd and end of line cut offs
