Happy Independence Day, Uganda! 🇺🇬

On 9 October 1962, Uganda gained independence from British rule. Today, the country celebrates 64 years of independence, marking an important moment to honour its rich heritage, its people and the diverse cultures that make it unique.

From music and dance to fashion, food, literature and art, Ugandan culture reflects a vibrant mix of traditions and creativity. Across the country, generations continue to preserve their heritage while finding new ways to express what it means to be Ugandan.

Today is also a moment to reflect on how far the country has come and look ahead to the hopes and possibilities of the future. To all Ugandans at home and around the world, happy Independence Day! 🇺🇬❤️🖤💛
